What changes can’t I make online?

You can use your Aviva Motor account to change most of your details – and we don’t charge administration fees for any changes you make online (apart from if you cancel cover), although we reserve the right to change an admin fee if more than 5 changes are made in any one month by logging in to MyAviva and selecting your Aviva Motor policy.

There are a few changes you can't make online, though. Please email us if you want to:

  • correct anyone's date of birth
  • increase your No claim discount (NCD) – you can reduce your NCD entitlement via your Aviva Motor account
  • remove driving convictions, although you can add a conviction via your Aviva Motor account
  • remove claims, although you can add a claim via your Aviva Motor account.

There are certain updates that you can't make at all, either online or by emailing us:

  • changing the policyholder
  • changing the policy start date
  • changing your payment method between monthly and yearly, except at renewal
  • changing the first name of an individual

If you need any of these changed, you’ll have to cancel your existing policy in your Aviva Motor account and then take out a new policy with the amended. Please refer to your policy booklet for more information on any associated cancellation fees and details of when you will not receive a refund of premium, and all premiums will be due, if you cancel your policy and a claim has been made.
