I’m using my No claim discount on another policy. Is that OK?

Unfortunately, we can’t apply your No claim discount (NCD) to an Aviva motor policy if you’re currently using it on an active policy with another insurer. If the policy has since been cancelled, please contact us and let us know.

Otherwise, you can keep your Aviva motor policy, but you’ll need to reduce your NCD to zero and this will increase your premium.

To reduce your NCD you just need to:

  1. Log in to MyAviva.
  2. Select your Aviva Motor policy, then choose Details
  3. Scroll down to the My policies section.
  4. Find the policy you wish to update and choose Change policy.
  5. Select Change driver.

You can reduce your NCD, see how it’ll affect your premium and make any extra payments. If your policy hasn't started yet, you'll need to set the 'effective date of change' to be the same as your start date.

If you don’t want to keep your policy without the NCD, you can cancel it. Please refer to your policy booklet for more information on any associated cancellation fees and details of when you will not receive a refund of premium, and all premiums will be due, if you cancel your policy and a claim has been made.
