How can I send in my proof of No claim discount?

As your Aviva Online or Aviva Premium motor insurance is an online only policy the only way to send us your proof of No Claim Discount (NCD) is by uploading it. Just follow these three simple steps:

Step 1: Find your renewal invitation or cancellation letter from your previous insurer

Check that it: 

  • is less than 2 years old
  • shows your name as the policyholder and the NCD was earned by you
  • shows the number of years of NCD you’re entitled to
  • shows your discount was earned on a private car or van, and not a company car or van or motorcycle.

Step 2: Scan it or take a picture

If your proof is a paper document, simply scan it or take a picture with your digital camera or camera phone. If it’s an email, print it and scan it or take a screenshot of it.

Please make sure that the image is clear – we need to be able to check all the information we mentioned in Step 1. We accept most types of image files (jpg, jpeg, pdf, gif).

Step 3: Upload to Your account

You can do this through our website or using the app.

  1. Log in to MyAviva.
  2. Select your Aviva Motor policy, and then choose Details.
  3. Scroll down to the My policies
  4. Find the policy to which you want to upload your proof of No claim discount.
  5. Go to Upload documents and upload.
  6. You’re done! We’ll send you an email once we’ve checked your proof – it can take up to two working days.

Once you’ve registered for MyAviva, you can download the MyAviva app. The MyAviva app is available for both iPhone and Android and is an easy way to upload your proof of no claims – just take a photo and upload!

Automatic validation of No claim discount

We’ve made it quicker and easier for our customers to get their motor insurance from us, by introducing a new service that automatically obtains information about their No claim discount (NCD).

We presently ask our customers to send us proof of their NCD so that we can confirm the number of years discount they’re entitled to and make sure that we’re insuring careful drivers.

Now, we'll get information that quickly checks and validates the number of years of NCD that a customer has, in real-time while they’re purchasing their policy.

  • If we can automatically check and validate your proof of NCD, we won’t ask you to send us proof of NCD.
  • Customers who aren’t automatically validated will need to manually provide us with their proof of NCD.
